-Education & Expectations
Expectations has really impacted our community more than any of us really realize. Society always has expectations on who we "are" and what we "should be," and sometimes it happens within our community. This may stem from media using transgender people as negative characters, and others thought that is how it really was. This is also applicable to those with any sexual orientation (other than heterosexual) because the media has shown it in a negative way. As far as in the community, some of us may think there is only "one way" to transition or everyone should look the same, those are also expectations that are given due to toxic masculinity (transmen). Education/Equality is exactly what it sounds like. Education throughout our community has changed over the years. The research and terminology have changed as well. Every one has a different transition so the education varies throughout the community- from individuals and allies, to medical professionals. Just like education has changed over the past decades, so has the equality. The history of the LBGTQ history is vast and the we are still writing history with the transgender community. It is time to keep fighting because transgender people are losing their rights every day (please see additional resources below).

*I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice or medical guidance. This is based off my personal experience and perspective. There are more topics in the LBTQ+ community, but these are the topics that were general to choose.*
